Sell Grain.
(Now let's go shopping!)
Amazing offers are everywhere today! And, no, I'm not just talking about those online stores offering 50 per cent off, although that’s good, too. I'm talking about some HOT grain offers seen today. For anyone whose down year needs a bright spot, hop onto Farmbucks and find your silver lining!
Markets are ending the week on a good high. It is nice to see the comeback today as most markets took a hit earlier this week when spec funds liquidated some of their positions leading up to the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday.
Market Recap:
Canola: The canola freight train just keeps on rolling along. Today, there are many elevators offering $13.25/bu for Feb-May delivery months. If you don't yet have any sales on the books, this is definitely not a bad place to start or dole out another small sale. This market will remain extremely volatile and unpredictable in the coming months.
Wheat: Nothing too crazy. Seen a nice rebound of almost 18 cents in the Kansas market today which gave the ability of some farmers to lock in $7/bu for old crop and even new crop CPSR. The Minn market rose 8 cents higher from yesterday's close and made up for some earlier losses in the week. Still finding good bids available.
Barley: New and stronger bids out this week. Check out your area for opportunities.
Peas: Yellow pea bids increase - even seeing offers over $9.50/bu for yellow peas.
Around the farm: It's the last week of hunting so a couple of my boys are gone to the bush. Good luck to anyone still trying to fill their tags. Me? I am going to relax this weekend with the kids after a hard week of work in the office (as per usual). Oh, and shop online. My mission: get Christmas shopping done! How the hell are we about to enter December (already)? Happy Black Friday door crashing everyone!
