On the Farm: We are battling the wind and rain to get all our fungicides done. What the heck is going on? It has been a struggle and we still have a few more fields to do. The canola is now is full bloom and our wheat seems to be about a week to 10 days behind 'normal.' Between spraying applications, we have have been placing cement blocks along our silage pit walls and working out some grain dryer bugs. We can't wait to finish spraying so that we can all enjoy a small break from farm work.
Market Watch: Canola, barley and peas are up while wheat bids are down vs. last Friday
- Canola is up!
Once again, $11.00/bu canola was found today in both old and new-crop pricing. You have to be quick on the draw especially for the old crop specials though.
Canola cash bids ended up another +$0.10/bu vs. last Friday.
- CPSR bids are ending down slightly $0.05/bu this week.
- New crop CWRS bids are down around $0.10/bu.
- Some old crop Feed Barley bids and Malt Barley bids are higher this week.
- Found some Oat bids slightly up.
- Some Yellow pea bids are up.
