Thanks For Farming Tour

Bored?

(Psst - There's a trade show next week)

OK, we don't want to get everyone riled up during these stressful times amidst a pandemic, but… did you know that everyone’s beloved AgriTrade in Red Deer has actually been replaced by a smaller, COVID-friendly show called the Thanks for Farming Tour. So, if you want to get out of the house, be sure to check it out! My team and I will be there ready to talk about Farmbucks and how you can get the best prices around! Even the hilarious Quick Dick McDick will make his way out—click here to see his promo video. If you ask me its like a mini FarmTech all in one room. You get lunch, four different speaking sessions and a bunch of exhibitors. To be sure we do not spread COVID it is limited to 500 attendees per day for attendance so register today to reserve your spot! I'm excited to get back out with my fellow farmers and show you what we are up to!

Market Recap:

Nearby futures closed down today after a decent run-up earlier this week. Still, it’s a volatile marketplace; there's no winner declared for the U.S. election, eyebrow-raising rumours floating around of China banning Aussie wheat, COVID spikes and weather issues possibly emerging in South America.

Soybean: Soybeans made new highs yesterday! Exports remain strong and the big question is will South America encounter weather problems in the coming months.

Corn: Rebounded a little bit this week but did not make new highs (even with news of export sales above expectations).

Canola: Had a decent week of strength although recent months closed lower by $0.10/bu today. Seen $12.50/bu bids triggering in deferred months. Stronger global vegetable oil markets are supporting it.

Wheat: Followed corn. Not impressive gains this week. Lots of wheat in the world and improving weather in key growing regions.

Barley: Holding strong. Still good prices available to make a sale.

Peas: We have seen yellow pea bids strengthen even more - even have $9.25/bu bids for yellows!

Around the farm: We are still fixing and greasing equipment but at least it was in warmer weather early this week! We got lots done when the sun was shining, then the cool weather and freezing rain arrived yesterday—enough to shut down all school bus routes. Even the backroads were glare ice. Now we are preparing ready to head to Red Deer next week. I’m tickled with excitement! Hope to see you there! Be careful on the highways and we will have our next chat face to face. Or mask to mask
