On the Farm: We integrated Climate FieldView on our farm and have sprayed a few canola fields using some prescription maps (where the drowned out spots are sectioned out so they aren't sprayed). See the picture above, orange shows where we sprayed and you'll see a check strip towards the south half of the field. We will cross-reference this with our combines’ yields at harvest and determine if the ROI is really there. Our wheat looks fabulous although it is later in maturity than usual, due to excessive amounts of rain. Next week it all receives a shot of fungicide :)
Market Watch: Wheat is on the rise, as are most crops!
- Canola is up! $11.00/bu canola was found in both old- and new-crop pricing.
Cash bids ended up +$0.10/bu vs. last Friday.
- CPSR bids are ending up +$0.18/bu this week.
- New crop CWRS bids are up about +$0.15/bu.
- Old crop feed barley bids are higher this week.
- Oats bids are relatively unchanged.
- Yellow pea bids remain unchanged.
