What is happening?
Another week has come and gone. While our crops are busy growing, my crew took a well-deserved break at the lake before in-crop spraying begins. Making time for family and friends is still important, COVID-19 be damned.
Markets this week:
- Canola has people nervous and bids are slightly lower than last week after the B.C. court ruled on Wednesday that the extradition trial will proceed for Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou. Despite the uncertainty, we still found buyers offering $10.50/bu for old crop canola this past week.
- Wheat markets are HOT! Cash bids for CPSR are around +0.30/bu and CWRS bids are +0.10/bu higher than last Friday
- Oats bids are UP across the Prairies - be sure to check your local prices, but expect to see some buyers prepared to offer $4.00 or more
- Barley demand has been strong with offerings of $4.75/bu FOB
Whether you're still scratching the dirt or at the lake, Farmbucks is by your side, watching markets and tracking prices. Life just got better—and easier—with Farmbucks.
